Sarah Leonardi is a teacher and the school board member for Broward County Public School’s District 3. She has nearly a decade of teaching experience, primarily teaching English in Broward’s public high schools. During her tenure in Broward Schools, she served as the sponsor to various clubs, worked as a mentor to other teachers, and was voted the Teacher of the Year at Coconut Creek High School in 2016.
Ms. Leonardi grew up in the Middle East, spending six years in Cairo, Egypt, and nine years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As the daughter of a teacher, she was raised to truly believe in the power of education in changing lives. She moved back to the United States to attend the University of Miami where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 2011.
Ms. Leonardi lives in Pompano Beach with her husband, Ross. She serves on the vestry of her church, St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, and enjoys volunteering with the bingo ministry there. She also serves on community boards such as Ruth’s List Broward, an organization that works to get women elected to local and statewide office.
