Paul Petersen served as property assessor after winning a 2014 special election. But, when rumors circulated about his potential involvement in a human trafficking scheme, people start assessing his value as an elected official.

Scandals plagued Rod Blagojevich’s governorship since his election in 2002, but when a federal indictment came out in 2008, the public learned that the FBI had a larger interest in the unscrupulous Governor.
