Hillary and Tina cover the Newport sex scandal and former United States Representative from Chicago Daniel Rostenkowski.
Hillary’s Story
In 1919, the Newport YMCA provided a home away from home for thousands of enlisted men. But, when rumors surfaced about what was then considered “immoral” sexual activity along with drug and alcohol use happening at the YMCA, the military launched an anti-gay witchhunt resulting in the persecution of gay sailors.
Tina’s Story
Daniel David Rostenkowski served in the US House of Representatives beginning in 1959 where he served as chair of the house democratic caucus and later the ways and means committee and as Chief Deputy Whip. But, when he’s indicted in the Congressional Post Office Scandal, he couldn’t whip up enough political support to save his career.
